Office Towers and High-Rises

ADF Group has successfully delivered several projects for the design and engineering of connexions, the fabrication and the installation of steel structures and complex and heavy steel built-ups for high-quality office towers and skyscrapers in North America, including more than a dozen in New York alone.

Several of these multipurpose buildings house offices, condominiums, shops and restaurants, as well as some spectacular large halls, which usually feature specific geometry and architecture and are subject to special requirements and strict tolerances.

In addition to ADF’s fabrication contract for steel structure of One World Trade Center tower in New York, the Corporation also secured the contract for the fabrication and delivery of the steel structure featuring highly complex geometry, of the tower’s 133-meter (440 foot) tall spire (formely known as the antenna), which include both its base and mast. The bottom section of the spire has an 5,5-meters or 18 feet diameter, its heaviest section weights over 54 tons and the top of the spire is in stainless steel.

Because of its size and dimension, the spire was shipped in 18 sections and travelled by barge from Montreal to New York passing through the St.Lawrence Seaway. Topping the One World Trade Center tower, the spire brought the height of the tower to a symbolic 1 776 feet high (541 meters) as it marks the year America signed its declaration of independence.
