This two-phases project included the design and engineering of connections, the supply of steel and the fabrication of the structural steel for the airport’s Concourse No. 1 canopy.
The fabrication of this canopy required a total of 2,600 tons of steel and included built-up columns, heavy box girders and cantilevered steel plated flanges. ADF’s team was also mandated to perform one of the largest trial assembly, inside ADF’s plant, to confirm the fitting and stability of this oversized and heavy steel built-up. To that effect, ADF’s plant has been designed to allow for such intricate and precise work.
