This contract requires the fabrication of the steel structure of a new multi-sports discipline center, which includes: an Olympic dimensioned pool with a state-of-the-art moveable pool floor for flexible swimming and seating for several hundred spectators; an ice skating rink that has bleachers for over 400 spectators, meeting/social rooms; a 3-story atrium lobby; wet and dry classrooms; full separate locker facilities for swimming and skating; outdoor sun decks and a high diving board.


The project complexity resides in the geometry of the roof which is made of curved beams having a span of 30 feet to 84.5 feet, over which stand two 78-feet long trapezoidal steel masts weighing approximately 17 tons each. A special cable system attached to the masts holds on the curved roof structure.
