Value Engineering

ADF's engineering team has developed an original approach to structural steel engineering which is best described as global engineering, e.g.:

an engineering centered on structural steel fabrication,
completely integrated to the fabrication process,
aiming at the optimal utilization of machine-tools and other equipment linked to the process,
while respecting transportation restrictions (road, rail or ship)
and intiating and/or following installation processes and schedule requirements.

Its is a global approach, focused on fabrication, which initiates and optimizes the entire fabrication process during any structural steel project awarded to ADF.

From the selection and use of raw materials to the installation set-ups, from the steel deliveries schedule to the automation of fabrication, from the analysis of drawings received to the development of optimal solutions, all major aspects of a project are scrutinized. The objectives: to reduce costs, to increase efficiency and speed of fabrication, and to ensure the respect of the original design and the project's deadlines.

Installation Engineering

The Company's engineering team know-how also impacts on major aspects of steel installation. Restrictions, such as limits on cargo loads shipped by truck, or ideal crane emplacement when erecting the structure, are part of the challenges met with success by ADF's team.

Connections and Complex Steel Components

When one talks about more projects having a peculiar/special geometry, one must talk about complex steel components and complex connections. ADF's engineering team has acquired a renowned expertise in the engineering of connections and heavy built-up steel components, which are the main elements of this tendancy towards complexity.

From multi-connection nodes to extra-long span built-up girders, from special bracing components to heavy steel nodes, the Company's engineering team works continuously at developping high-level engineering solutions which are optimal, allowing simpler and quicker fabrication, savings in raw materials and savings in time and money to the client.
